Daytime Closure Of I-495 North Ramp From GW Parkway On March 11: VDOT
VDOT crews will be closing the ramp from the George Washington Memorial Parkway to northbound I-495 during the day on Tuesday, March 11.

MCLEAN, VA — Motorists traveling the George Washington Memorial Parkway and the Capital Beltway in McLean can expect delays on March 11 due to a daytime closure of the parkway ramp to northbound I-495.
Virginia Department of Transportation work crews will be closing the ramp between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., to conduct tree clearing I-495 Express Lanes Northern Extension (495 NEXT) project.
During the closure, drivers traveling north/west on the parkway to northbound I-495 will be diverted as follows:

- Exit GWMP to southbound I-495
- Take Exit 44 to Georgetown Pike
- Turn left at the intersection onto eastbound Georgetown Pike
- Turn left at the next intersection to the on-ramp for northbound I-495.

In case of inclement weather or other delays, VDOT will reschedule the ramp closure for Wednesday, March 12, or Thursday, March 13, or perhaps long. Drivers are urged expect potential delays and use caution when traveling through the work area.
