Dranesville Candidate Bierman Touts McLean Roots In New Campaign Video

MCLEAN, VA — Jimmy Bierman, who announced in December that he was running to be the next Dranesville District supervisor, released a video on Monday asking voters to support him in the Democratic Party Primary on June 20.

A resident of McLean, Bierman is an attorney who works for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. He also served as the chairman of the Fairfax County Police Civilian Review Panel.

"Along my path, I have been able to serve my community as the chair of our Dranesville District Democratic Committee and I've worked to build trust and accountability between police and our community," Bierman said, in the video. "I've stood up for our community's values."

In August, current Dranesville District Supervisor John Foust (D) told his colleagues on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors that he would not be running for re-election to a fifth term in office in 2023. The district includes McLean, Great Falls, and Herndon, as well as portions of Vienna and Falls Church

Bierman, who received U.S. Rep. Gerry Connolly's (D) endorsement in January, is the only candidate from either party to officially enter the Dranesville supervisor's race.

As of the Dec. 31, 2022, Bierman has raised $64,966 in campaign contributions, according to the latest financial filing information reported by the Virginia Public Access Project.

Early voting for the June 20 Democratic Party primary begins on May 6. Voters must register by May 29 to be eligible to vote in the June 20 primary. The deadline for requesting an absentee ballot for the Democratic primary is June 9.

Voters will be heading to the polls on Tuesday, Nov. 7, to choose candidates running for the Virginia House of Delegates, the Virginia Senate, the Commonwealth's Attorney, Clerk of the Fairfax Circuit Court, Fairfax County Sheriff, Chairman of Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, District Members of the Board of Supervisors, At-Large Members of the Fairfax County School Board, District Members of the School board, and Directors (vote for 3) of the Northern Virginia Soil and Water Conservation District.
