Fairfax County Public Schools 2016-2017 Calendar

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- The first bell on the 2016-17 school year will ring on Tuesday, Sept. 6 for students who attend Fairfax County Public Schools, and that means parents need to get their calendars in order.

To help out, here's a listing of important dates in the coming year:

• Sept. 6: School Begins
• Oct. 7: Student Holiday
• Oct. 10: Columbus Day Holiday - Student Holiday
• Nov. 4: First Grading Period Ends*+Students Released 2 Hours Early
• Nov. 7 - 8: Student Holidays
• Nov: 23: Students Released 2 Hours Early
• Nov. 24 - 25: Thanksgiving Break
• Dec. 19 - Jan. 2, 2017: Winter Break
• Jan. 16: Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Birthday Holiday - Student Holiday
• Jan. 20: Inauguration Day - Student Holiday
• Feb. 3: Second Grading Period Ends*+ Students Released 2 Hours Early
• Feb. 6 Student Holiday
• Feb. 20 George Washington’s Birthday - Presidents' Day Holiday - Student Holiday
• March 24: Student Holiday
• April 7: Third Grading Period Ends*+ Students Released 2 Hours Early
• April 10 - 14: Spring Break
• April 17: Student Holiday
• May 26: Students Released 2 Hours Early
• May 29: Memorial Day Holiday - Student Holiday
• June 15: Graduation on or after this date
• June 23: Last Day of School*+N Students Released 2 Hours Early
