Could Trump's VP Choice Be Gingrich?
Former Speaker Newt Gingrich, a resident of McLean, says he expects to find out soon whether he's Trump's running mate choice.
Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich was flown out to Indiana Wednesday by private jet courtesy of Fox News' Sean Hannity, to meet with presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, CNN reported Thursday.
Gingrich, who is being considered as Trump's running mate, severed ties with Fox on Tuesday. "Due to the intense media speculation about Gingrich's potential selection as Donald Trump's vice presidential candidate, we felt it best to halt his contributor role on the network to avoid all conflicts of interest that may arise," executive vice president for news Jay Wallace said in a statement.

Hannity defended his actions on Twitter: “I have known Newt Gingrich since 1990 (I emceed his event the night he became Speaker of the House in 1994) he has been a long term, very dear friend of mine and is a private citizen. Whatever favors I do for my friends is my business.”
Meanwhile Gingrich tells ABC News Thursday he expects to hear from the Trump campaign by Thursday afternoon at 1 p.m. whether he's been chosen as Trump's running mate.
