MCLEAN, VA — Pumpkins and fake spider webs are popping up on McLean porches, which is a sure sign that Halloween is nearly here.

It looks like trick-or-treaters across Northern Virginia will have a treat from Mother Nature. Summer-like high temperatures will be in the high 70s and approach 80 degrees on several days next week throughout the Baltimore-Washington area, including on Halloween, according to the National Weather Service’s long-range forecast.

Trick or Treat at McLean Volunteer Fire Department on Oct. 31, 5-8 p.m. Volunteers will be on hand to hand out candy to kids from our community. Note to parents: This is not an Open House and there are no special events, but feel free to stop by with your kids for candy if you’re passing through downtown McLean. The fire station is located at 1455 Laughlin Ave.

Celebrate Halloweekend on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 12-6 p.m., at The Perch at Capital One Center. Dress up and join the costume party at the festively decorated Skypark or enjoy a round of spooky golf at Perch Putt. Other family-friendly activities are planned, including face painting, pumpkin painting, and Wegmans-sponsored pumpkin pie eating contests. Saturday’s event is free to attend with a recommended donation to Miriam’s Kitchen

The Boo-Ro, will host its annual Halloween celebration Saturday, Oct. 26, from 1 to 4 p.m. Everyone is invited to dress up for this family-friendly event and enjoy a live DJ, trick or treating and other Halloween-inspired activities, including a dog costume contest, pumpkin and face painting, and glitter tattoos. The Boro is located at 8350 Broad St. in Tysons, adjacent to Route 7 and Westpark and Greensboro drives.
