Horton’s Kids Hits It Out of the Park for Southeast DC Students and Families

More than 800 guests attended Home Runs for Horton's Kids at Nationals Park raising over $530,000 for nonprofit

WASHINGTON, D.C. (July 10, 2025) — Horton’s Kids (HK), a leading nonprofit serving more than 600 students and their families in Southeast DC’s Historic Anacostia, hosted their largest fundraiser of the year, Home Runs for Horton’s Kids, on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at Nationals Park. More than 800 guests joined the impactful evening, including government and business leaders, families, and community advocates. HK raised more than $530,000 to directly support their mission to provide wraparound educational and enrichment programs for students PK-12, and their families in DC’s Ward 8.

Nationals Park was transformed into a vibrant, family-friendly experience for attendees of all ages. The evening featured batting practice in the Nationals’ batting cages, fast-pitch competitions in the bullpen, bounce houses, carnival games, stadium snacks, and a special guest appearance by Teddy.

“Every year, Home Runs is a powerful reminder of what we can achieve together, and this year was exceptional. We are incredibly grateful to our sponsors, attendees, and community partners whose generosity and enthusiasm made this year’s event our most successful yet,” said Erica Ahdoot, CEO of Horton’s Kids. “Every person and organization who showed up for us this year is a strong example of DC’s unwavering support to ensure that children and families in Southeast DC have the resources and opportunities to thrive.”
