Jubilee Fundraiser, Silent Auction Saturday at Dolley Madison Library in McLean

McLEAN, VA -- The "2016 Library Jubilee: A Dolley Madison Squeeze" is coming up Saturday in McLean, hosted by the Fairfax Library Foundation. The event takes place Saturday from 5:30-8 p.m. at the library, at 1244 Oak Ridge Ave. in McLean. Tickets are $75.

The purpose of the Library Jubilee is to raise money for Fairfax County Public Library programs like Changing Lives Through Literature, giving first time juvenile offenders an alternative to formal court action, and Ready to Read Early Literacy Outreach, bringing interactive reading experiences to preschool students. Each year at the Jubilee attendees celebrate this work of the Library and Foundation while enjoying hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, musical entertainment, and a silent auction. This year New York Times bestselling author Linda Castillo will attend and give the keynote, Library Director Jessica Hudson will give remarks, and the night will finish with Dolley Madison’s famous pink peppermint ice cream.

Individual guests can support the library through single tickets for $75 per person. In addition to the programs mentioned above, support of this event provides funding for Scholarships, the Library’s Summer Reading Challenge, Presentations, and Materials, such as books and eBooks.
