Man Charged for Taking 'Upskirt' Photos at Shopping Center: Police

Police were called after a woman reported the man held a camera under her skirt at the Sephora store at Tysons, police said.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- A Fairfax County resident was arrested Sunday for taking "upskirt" photos of a woman at a local shopping center, according to police.

A Mclean District Police Officer began an investigation after they were called to the Sephora store located at Tysons Corner Center shopping center at around 4 p.m. Saturday, April 17, police said.

A female reported that a man held a camera underneath her skirt, according to police. The man was confronted, but denied taking photographs of the female, police said.

After further investigation, a warrant was obtained for unlawful creation of an image of another for Jimy Cruz Vargas, 31, of Alexandria, police said. Cruz Vargas was arrested Sunday and transported to the Mt. Vernon District Police Station where the warrant was served.
