MCLEAN, VA — The McLean Area Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) recently donated 170 books to Graham Road Elementary School, a Title 1 school in Fairfax County.

This project was chosen as part of the Virginia State AAUW’s Centennial Celebration which challenged each AAUW branch in Virginia to donate 100 items to a local school or nonprofit. Branch members and other members of our local community answered the call to purchase new books from the “wish list” submitted by Graham Road, which was posted at Font’s Books & Gifts, an independent bookstore in McLean. The books were formally presented to the librarian and a fifth-grade class that was visiting the library.
