McLean Citizens Association Too Host Police At Forum On Crime Trends, Prevention

The McLean Citizens Association is hosting a forum on Feb. 15 where leaders of the McLean District Police Station will discuss crime trends.

MCLEAN, VA — The McLean Citizens Association is hosting a public safety forum on Feb. 15 where leaders of the McLean District Police Station will discuss crime trends and prevention.

The forum will provide residents an opportunity to discuss policing issues and ask questions about public safety in the community. The forum will take place at the McLean Community Center on Wednesday, Feb. 15 at 7 p.m.

The speakers will be Captain Carolyn Kinney, commander of the McLean District Police Station; Lieutenant Derek Gray, assistant commander of the district station; and Master Police Officer Carolyn Beyer, a crime prevention officer.

Among the topics of discussion by the police officers will be home security and vehicle crime prevention; the Fairfax County Police Department’s recent adoption of Flock Safety Automated License Plate Recognition technology; FCPD real time crime and safety updates using the Neighbors Application by Ring; and the police department’s staffing and recruitment efforts.

The in-person event on Feb. 15 will be held at the Community Hall at the McLean Community Center. Registration is open to everyone.

The public can also attend the forum via Zoom. Registration is not required for in-person attendance, but the public will need to register if participating via Zoom.

The meeting will also be livestreamed on MCA's Facebook page. Registration is not required to watch the livestreamed event on Facebook.
