McLean Drive-By Shooting: $24 Million Party Mansion Tied to Incident: Police
Police say that the suspects in the drive-by shooting were attending a party at Arlington mega-mansion before incident.

McLEAN, VA -- The people involved in a drive-by shooting Sunday morning in McLean were attending a party at a $24 million mega-mansion at 201 Chain Bridge Road in Arlington before the incident, according to Fairfax County Police.
In all, three of four people in one car were injured after someone pulled up in another vehicle and shot into the car, according to Officer Don Gotthardt, a spokesman for FCPD. Three men and one woman were in the car that was hit; two of the men were shot, one in the upper body and one in the lower body, and the woman was hit by glass fragments, he said. The driver was not hit.
"The working theory is that some kind of altercation took place" at the party at the mansion, Gotthardt said.

The 23,000-square foot mansion features an indoor basketball court, indoor pool, outdoor pool, movie theater, bowling alley, 15-car garage and was featured on MTV's Teen Cribs (the owner of the home has a son who is a rapper). There are plenty of descriptions of the Mediterranean-style home available online, after the home was supposed to be auctioned several years ago. You can also see photos from parties held at the mansion on Instagram at RPH Mansion. The initials stand for Robert P. Hunt, the former owner of the mansion.
Earlier this summer, Hunt's $24 million house was auctioned off at the Arlington County Courthouse for $7.3 million, the Washington Post reports. The buyer is listed as Chain Bridge LLC, at 7735 Old Georgetown Rd., Suite 1200, in Bethesda.

The Washington Post reports that the mansion was rented out for the party and has seen nearly 70 visits from police in the past six years and police were called twice the night of the shooting.
Detectives from Fairfax County's Major Crimes Division are investigating the shooting that took place early Sunday sometime after 4 a.m. on Dolley Madison Boulevard near the intersection of Kirby Road in McLean.
Police say it looks like the incident stemmed from some kind of an altercation between several people at the party earlier in the night. One group left the party in a car and when they reached Dolley Madison Boulevard and Kirby Road, another vehicle pulled alongside and fired several shots, striking two occupants in the first vehicle, according to police.
The unidentified suspect vehicle fled the scene, police said. Little is known about the two victims who were shot, police said Sunday afternoon, other than they drove themselves to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police are investigating and hope to have descriptions of the suspects or vehicle.
Detectives from the county's Crime Scene Section, K9 teams and the police helicopter (Fairfax 1), responded to help police try to find the suspect and vehicle. As detectives investigate the crime, they are asking anyone who might have information to call the Fairfax County Police Department at 703-691-2131.
