McLean Home Invasion, Torture Case to Be Featured on TV Program

Program will air about the bizarre case of two lawyers who took part in a home invasion and torture of two McLean residents.

McLEAN, VA -- Crime WatchDaily, which airs locally weekdays at 12 noon on The CW TV network, plans to air a program about the bizarre case of two lawyers, Alecia and Andrew Schmul of Springfield, who invaded a McLean home in 2014 and tortured two residents, a producer for the show said this week.

On Nov. 9, 2014, the Schmuls drove to McLean, to the home of Leo Fisher, a partner at the Arlington law firm Bean, Kinney & Korman that had fired Alecia Schmul, 32, police said. Andrew Schmul gained entry to the home by pretending to be an officer from the "Virginia SEC," The Washington Post reported. During three hours at the home, he shocked Fisher and his wife Sue Duncan with a Taser, tied them up, slit Fisher's throat and stabbed Duncan, authorities said. Both survived.

The Schmuls fled the McLean home after Duncan was able to sound a home alarm that alerted police, according to police. The two were captured after they led police on a chase on the Beltway; Andrew Schmul was wearing only an adult diaper at the time of his arrest, police said.
