McLean Highlanders Sweep Soccer District Championships

UPDATE: The McLean High School soccer teams, both the boys and girls teams, won their championship games last night in the Liberty District.

The lady Highlanders clinched their championship first by defeating Stone Bridge, 1-0.

Then the McLean boys defeated their crosstown rival Langley, 1-0.

Some neighbors shared a video of the boys championship game.

ORIGINAL STORY. The McLean High School girls and boys soccer teams will play for the Liberty District Championship titles  this evening at Madison High School.

The McLean girls advanced to the finals by defeating the Langley High School girls 2-1 Wednesday evening.

The girls will face the Stone Bridge girls beginning at 6pm at Madison.

The McLean and Langley High School boys soccer teams will battle tonight for the Liberty District Championship.  The match will begin at 8pm at Madison High School.

In semi-final action Thursday evening, McLean defeated Thomas Jefferson 5-1 and Langley defeated South Lakes 2-0.

Tennis: The McLean and Langley boys and girls tennis teams face each other in the semi-finals of the Northern Region Tournament today. The Girls Tennis teams play at Langley at 3 pm. The Boys teams play at McLean at 3pm.

In Thursday's Northern Region boys tennis tournament quarterfinal matches:
McLean HS won 5-1 vs West Potomac HS.
Langley HS won 5-1 vs Lake Braddock
Robinson HS won 5-4 vs Woodson HS
Washington-Lee HS won 5-4 vs Thomas Jefferson HS
