Metro Park Ice Skating Rink To Open For Winter Season

TYSONS, VA — The opening of Capital One's new 9,000-square-foot, open-air synthetic ice skating rink on Thursday will mark the unofficial arrival of winter in Tysons.

“Capital One Center is thrilled to open Metro Park — a year-round recreational plaza featuring a synthetic ice skating rink in the winter and pickleball courts spring through fall — and offer more community amenities at our growing arts and entertainment center," said said Erin Mical, vice president at Capital One."

In addition, a new entrance and scenic pedestrian path recently opened connecting the McLean Metro station to Capital One Center’s amenities. The rink also includes a 40-foot LED holiday tree and elevated deck.

Located at 1820 Capital One Drive, the Metro Park ice skating rink will be open Sunday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Monday-Thursday, 12 to 9 p.m.; Friday, 12 to 10 p.m.; and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

• Christmas Day: 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
• Dec. 26-30: 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
• New Year's Eve: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
• New Year's Day: 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.

The new link between the McLean Metro station and Metro Park is the result of a partnership between the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, Northern Virginia Transportation Commission and Fairfax County.
