Next Great Falls Street Walkway Project Community Meeting Set for September 13

FALLS CHURCH, VA - The Fairfax County Department of Transportation (FCDOT) will host a community meeting to discuss the Great Falls Street Walkway from North West Street to Osborn Street project on Tuesday, September 13, 2016, 7 p.m., in the cafeteria of Haycock Elementary School, 6616 Haycock Road, Falls Church, Va. This project will construct a new curb, gutter, sidewalks and drainage improvements along Great Falls Street.

The initial scope for this project was to provide a sidewalk on the east side of Great Falls Street. Based on feedback received at a community meeting held on March 30, 2016, the county has evaluated locating the sidewalk on the west side of the street between North West Street and Woodland Drive. At the meeting:

· FCDOT staff will present a preliminary design with revisions; and

· Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions and provide input to help determine a preferred alternative.
