- Popular acai bowl, smoothie, and juice shop South Block is set to open a new location in the Chesterbrook Shopping Center in McLean on Mar. 6. With 15 stores in the Washington, D.C. area, the new location on Old Dominion Drive will be South Block's latest addition to its existing eight stores in Virginia, five in D.C., and one in Bethesda. CEO and founder of South Block, Amir Mostafavi, grew up in McLean, where his parents ran Box Office Video for over 20 years. (McLean Patch)
- In honor of Women's History Month, Fairfax County is organizing an online panel discussion to commemorate American women's struggle for the right to vote. The event is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Mar. 8, and will delve into the journey of American women towards suffrage, their continued efforts post-1920, and the significance of voting in empowering women's voices today. The League of Women Voters is a co-sponsor of the program, and registration is required to attend. (Fairfax County Virginia)
- March has finally arrived, which means it is officially time to begin celebrating St. Patrick's Day! All throughout northern Virginia, you can find events to get in the holiday spirit, including the Ballyshaners 40th Alexandria Saint Patrick’s Day Parade this Saturday at 12:15 p.m. The City of McLean will be hosting five different events starting on Mar. 10 through Mar. 19.
