• Fairfax legislator to resurrect bill enabling local gas-powered leaf blower bans (ffxnow.com) — McLean residents could soon see local authority to restrict noisy gas-powered leaf blowers if Del. Rip Sullivan’s revived bill advances in Richmond. The proposal, prompted by complaints from neighborhoods including McLean, would let local governments regulate or ban the machines and potentially fund a transition to electric blowers, while Sullivan also pursues tools to curb excessive vehicle exhaust noise in Northern Virginia. 
• NASA Awards Launch Range Contract for Wallops Flight Facility (nasa.gov) — A McLean-based firm, ARES Technical Services, has landed a NASA contract worth up to $339.8 million to support launch range operations at Wallops Flight Facility. The long-term deal, potentially running through 2031, covers radar, telemetry, tracking, communications, and IT services for rockets, aircraft, satellites, and more, giving a McLean employer a major federal win.
