TYSONS, VA — Virginia State Police on Thursday released the names of a woman killed and two people who were hospitalized in a Christmas night crash involving a minivan and a pickup truck on eastbound Interstate 495 near the Interstate 66 interchange in Fairfax County.

Two people died in the crash, and another six people were taken to area hospitals for treatment. The driver of the pickup truck has been charged, and more criminal charges may be filed, state police said.

Authorities said Su Nguyen, 75, of Annandale, died in the accident, along with an unidentified 15-year-old. Both were passengers in a Toyota Sienna minivan that had six occupants and was found by troopers in the eastbound Express Lanes with heavy rear-end damage.

In the main lanes of I-495 near where Sienna was located, police found a damaged Dodge Ram pickup truck. Both the driver of the Ram, Devin Juliana, 48, of Steubenville, Ohio, and a passenger, Tiffany Juliana, 43, were taken to an area hospital, authorities said Thursday.

Devin Juliana has been charged with reckless driving and additional charges may be forthcoming pending approval by the Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney, officials said Thursday. Virginia State Police are attempting to locate Devin Juliana to serve the warrant and interview him.

Despite the minivan being found in the Express Lanes, investigators believe the two vehicles collided in the main lanes of Capital Beltway.

Investigators said the Sienna was in the center lanes of the mainlines on Interstate 495 traveling at about 55 miles per hour when the minivan was struck from behind by the pickup truck, which was traveling at more than 100 mph.

A state police news release said the impact of the collision crushed the rear interior compartment of the Sienna minivan and pushed it into the Express Lanes.
