Pedestrian Injured in Tysons Corner Accident

Woman Suffers Non-Life-Threatening Injuries

Some of the neighbors asked about an accident Wednesday at Westpark Drive and Greensboro Drive in Tysons Corner.

The Fairfax County police said:  The accident was reported at 12:57 p.m.
 
One car was southbound on Westpark, one car was northbound on Westpark. A third car was stopped for a red light in the left lane of Greensboro Drive at the intersection of Westpark. A fourth car was stopped for a red light in the right lane on Greensboro at Westpark. A 45-year-old, female pedestrain was walking in the crosswalk from north to south on Greensboro Drive at the intersection of Westpark.

The first and second cars had a green light. The first car attempted to turn left onto Greensboro, failed to yield right of way and was struck by the second car. The first car then struck the pedestrian, pushing her into the third and fourth cars.    
 
Ian Joseph Robert, 24, of 6608 Lee Hwy. in Arlington, was charged with Fail to Yield Right-of-Way. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
