Suspect Faces Multiple Charges After Police Chase

FAiRFAX COUNTY, VA -- Police were led on a chase Friday afternoon from Chain Bridge Road and Route 267, Fairfax County Police said Monday.

The incident began Friday around 1:30 p.m., when an officer attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation, police said. The suspect fled on to eastbound Dulles Access Road where the driver proceeded to lose control, according to police.

The vehicle became disabled on the Dulles Access Road near Magarity Road. The suspect was apprehended and treated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries.

Alton B Garbla, 28, of Bowie, Md., was charged with assault on law enforcement and felony speed to elude. After further investigation, Garbla was additionally charged with forging a bank note, uttering of a bad check, and obtaining money by false pretenses, according to police.
