The McLean Ear - Macy's Now Open 24-hours, Kudos for McLean Library

Attention Late Shoppers. Macy's in Tysons Corner is now offering round–the-clock holiday shopping, (starting at 7 p.m. Dec. 21) until 6 p.m. Dec. 24. The Tysons store (in Tysons One) is among 14 Macy’s that will be open for an 83-hour stretch to accommodate holiday shoppers.
Library Kudos. The awesome McLean Library graces the cover of the December issue of Library Journal magazine. The Journal does an architectural issue every December that provides information on new or renovated libraries. The fabulously renovated Dolley Madison Library was a natural.
Dolley Madison Library and the Wiehle Avenue Metro Station Facility project recently received awards from NAIOP (Commercial Real Estate Development Association) of Northern Virginia.

Dolley Madison won the 2011 Award of Excellence in the category of Best Building, Institutional Facility Under $20 Million while the Wiehle project received a 2011 Award of Excellence for Best Real Estate Transaction, Lease.
The county’s Department of Public Works and Environmental Services Capital Facilities Branch managed the design and construction of the library, and it is also overseeing construction of the Wiehle parking garage.

Recently renovated and expanded, Dolley Madison incorporates many green features — but notably, it uses a green roof to cover approximately one-third of the building. It’s the first county library with a green roof.
