Tonight Major Beltway Closing in Both Directions

Three Northbound and 3 Southbound Lanes on I-495 at Route 123 in Tysons Corner Tonight, will close tonight because of Metro construction of the new Silver Line.

These lane closings from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. will continue for the rest of the week.

The closing of this section of 495 (Beltway) is in addition to the closing of a second section from Old Dominion Drive to Tysons. The second section is for the construction of the new toll lanes, aka HOT lanes, under construction down the middle of the Beltway.

Details:

• Three left lanes of northbound I-495, from 2,000 feet south of Leesburg Pike (Route 7) to Route 123

• Three left lanes of southbound I-495, from Old Dominion Drive to Route 123

• All ramps at this interchange will remain open tonight.

 
In addition, overnight lane closures in both directions of I-495 will be scheduled nightly for the rest of this week. Information on specific lane closings will be announced daily.
 
Motorists are urged to use extreme caution, and pay attention to signs when traveling through this area. Police will be on site. All work is weather-dependent and subject to change.
