TSA Pre-Check Center Opens at DMV in Tysons
Want to zip through security while traveling? You can now apply for the "TSA Pre-Check" at the DMV in Tysons.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- A new TSA Pre✓® application center opened Wednesday inside the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Customer Service Center in Tysons. Area residents now can do more than get a driver’s license, pick up license plates or take a driver’s test at the popular DMV office.
The Virginia DMV is the first motor vehicle agency in the country that offers TSA Pre✓® application services.
Applying for the pre-check at the DMV allows U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents to enroll directly in the TSA Pre✓® expedited screening program. Once you're enrolled, traveling is a lot easier: you can leave on your shoes, light outerwear and belt, keep your laptop in its case and any 3-1-1 compliant liquids/gels bag in a carry-on, in select airport screening lanes.

3. Visit the TSA Pre✓® application center, pay the $85 fee, provide valid government identification and fingerprints.
4. A Known Traveler Number will be sent to you via U.S. mail or can be obtained online.
5. Once successfully enrolled, provide your Known Traveler Number in the “Known Traveler Number” field when making airline reservations.
TSA noted that as always, it continues to incorporate random and unpredictable security measures throughout the airport and no individual will be guaranteed expedited screening. Additional program information and how to enroll can be found at https://www.tsa.gov/precheck .
