May 20. Fairfax County Police have released the details of two "suspicious stranger" incidents that were initially reported by the principal of Churchill Road School Tuesday.
On Tuesday, May 17, there were two reports of indecent exposure that occurred in the 6600 block of Weatherford Court (just off Georgetown Pike near Langley High School):
- The first case occurred around 2:45 p.m.; a 16-year-old girl was walking on a path when she saw a man near a fence. The suspect did not have pants on and the victim fled. The suspect was described as Middle Eastern, in his 20s, 5 feet 8 inches tall and 175 pounds. He was wearing a dark-colored T-shirt.
- In the second case, a 12-year-old girl was walking home from school when she saw a man outside of a home touching himself inappropriately. The victim fled home and later that day reported it to a parent who notified police. The suspect was described as Asian, about 22 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall and 175 pounds. He was wearing dark-colored clothing.
Police are investigating to determine if the two cases are linked and working to identify a suspect, police said in a statement.
May 18. The principal of Churchill Road Elementary School sent this note to neighbors this afternoon:
"A Cooper student reported to the police that a stranger, fitting the description of the 'suspicious stranger' exposed himself to her near her home in the Langley Oaks neighborhood. The student was able to safely enter her house without any other interaction with this man. A second, similar incident was reported to the police yesterday, too. I don’t have details on that incident.
"The police are continuing their investigation and are patrolling our area," said the note from Churchill Principal Don Hutzel.
"While I do not have jurisdiction beyond the school property, I do want to keep you informed. Continue to remind your children to:
• Walk in groups
• Be aware of their surroundings
• If possible, carry a cell phone
• If they see someone suspicious, keep walking and go to the nearest residence. They are to not approach or confront the individual. Call the police as soon as possible."
It is unknown whether this is the same man who has been reported near Langley High School.
