TYSONS, VA — A sure sign that spring is the horizon in the DMV are the cherry blossoms blooming around the Tidal Basin in Washington, D.C. and the thousands of tourists who come to see them.

This year's National Cherry Blossom Festival, which will run from March 20 through April 14 and feature dozens of events around the city.

According to the National Park Service, the peak bloom date is when 70 percent of the cherry blossoms are open. While peak bloom varies annually depending on weather conditions, the most likely time to reach peak bloom is between the last week of March and the first week of April.

WREN at The Watermark Hotel in Tysons is celebrating cherry blossom season with an exclusive Highball Cart Experience and a specially curated menu by Executive Chef Yo Matsuzaki, which will be available from March 17 – April 6. The Watermark Hotel is located at 1825 Capital One Drive in Tysons.

Inspired by Japan’s Sakura tradition, the limited-time menu features artfully crafted dishes and cocktails, including:

  • Futomaki – A traditional Japanese sushi roll with unagi, tamago, and sakura denbu
  • Sakura Milk Pudding – A delicate cherry blossom-infused dessert
  • Yoshino Cocktail – A floral, gin-based cocktail honoring the historic Yoshino cherry trees

Available only on March 25-26 and April 1-2, the Highball Cart Experience offers classic Japanese whisky highballs and cherry blossom-themed cocktails.
