19 Days of Summer: Time for a Bike Ride Using Coolest Map Ever

As temperatures begin to cool, get a final glimpse of summer on two wheels before fall starts settling in. Today, Tuesday, Sept. 3, you can enjoy a bike ride on one of several area bike trails from Fredericksburg to Georgetown.

The last day of summer is Sept. 21. Or, you can look at it this way: The first day of fall is Sept. 22. Patch has found something for you to do each day as we count down until summer passes us by.

For more cycling information, see the Virginia Bicycling Federation. The W&OD trail is popular in the Fairfax/Vienna area. There’s also the Mount Vernon trail along the George Washington Memorial Parkway. Fairfax County has bike path info and safety tips.
