Fire Injures 1 Resident In Woodlawn Area: Fire Department
One resident was displaced due to a house fire last weekend in the Woodlawn area, according to Fairfax County Fire and Rescue.

WOODLAWN, VA — A resident was injured during a house fire in Woodlawn Saturday, according to Fairfax County Fire and Rescue. There were no firefighter injuries.
Units had responded around 6:08 a.m. to a single-family home in the 8100 block of Norwood Drive. With smoke showing from the home, units took a hose line to the first floor and put out the fire.
One resident went to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The resident was home on the second floor and heard a noise downstairs. The resident discovered the fire in the living room and evacuated. The smoke alarm activated after the resident discovered the fire. The alarm company monitoring smoke alarms notified 911.

Investigators determined an electrical event caused the fire in the living room. Damages were estimated to be $187,500.
The one resident was displaced and accepted Red Cross assistance.
