The bookstore will hold its monthly “First Saturday” sale on June 1, from 10 AM to 4 PM, as well as regular sale hours on Wednesday, 1-4 PM, and Sunday, 1-3 PM. The library is located at 2501 Sherwood Hall Lane, Alexandria, 22306.

SUPER SUMMER SALE on June 1 and 2: ALL children’s and teen books at half price. The sale will include books, games, and activities already on the shelves of the children’s room, AND hundreds of additional books and items set up on tables in the second floor lobby. Many items are gift-quality. Now is the perfect time to stock up for summer reading, or (horrors) on those math and alphabet games.

The bookstore is the place to come to stock up on all varieties of summer and beach reading. We have recently added more fiction, all formats and genres, as well as a huge assortment of history, religion, and biography. We’ve put a recently donated selection of beautiful gardening books on a separate cart for easy browsing. Even if you don’t have a green thumb, these books could be part of a summer stay-vacation.

This week we have outdone ourselves with selections on our special price table, for example: a slip case set of the Suzanne Collins’ “Hunger Games Trilogy”; a slip case reproduction of Einstein’s actual “1912 Manuscript on the Special Theory of Relativity”; “Warrior Diplomat” by Michael G. Waltz”; the “Art and Architecture of the Jefferson Building, Library of Congress”; the Karl Blossfeldt photography of plants and flowers; and “Cartographia – Mapping Civilizations.” Those are just a small sample.

We continue to add beautiful items to our collection of music offerings and highly desirable art books. These include sheet music, instructional booklets, and books about music and musicians.

The bookstore is currently in need of paperback mysteries. Our bookstore and support of the library depend on donations by members of the community. The bookstore always appreciates donations in all categories, both fiction and nonfiction, in clean, resalable condition. Please, no magazines or encyclopedias. Receipts are available for tax purposes.

Items from the ongoing book sale in the first floor hallway and in the second floor open lobby are available for purchase whenever the library is open. Help us spread the word; please forward this message to your community and neighborhood email groups.
