Historic Mount Vernon Celebrates Black History Month
A wreathlaying and presentation will take place at the slave memorial site at the Mount Vernon Estate.

In honor of Black History Month, Historic Mount Vernon will highlight the lives and contributions of the slaves who built and operated the Washingtons' plantation home.Â
The daily Slave Life at Mount Vernon tour explores the lives and contributions of the slaves who lived at Mount Vernon and will continue through February. A wreathlaying and presentation will take place daily at the slave memorial site throughout the month.
Black History Month activities are included in regular admission: adults, $17; children ages 6-11, $8; and children under 5 are admitted free. For more information, visit Historic Mount Vernon's website.
