Photo: Mount Vernon-Lee Chamber Installs New Leadership

Five new leadership officials were welcomed at the Installation Extravaganza.

New leadership was sworn into office at the Mount Vernon-Lee Chamber of Commerce's annual Installation Extravaganza Wednesday at the Mount Vernon Country Club.

“I’m looking forward to an exciting year ahead,” Barbara Doyle, CEO of Inova Mount Vernon Hospital and the new Chamber Chairman said in a release, “My vision is to increase and retain membership and ensure that our members receive true value for their investment into the Chamber.”

The new leadership team is:

  • Chairman Barbara Doyle, CEO Inova Mount Vernon Hospital
  • President Ashley McNeff Behrens, CEO USHI Inc.
  • Vice President Sean O'Connell, PBMares LLP Certified Public Accountants
  • Secretary Katy Fike, McEnearney Associates
  • Treasurer Sam Misleh, Walker's Grille

Outgoing Chairman Michael Gailliot was also recognized as an exemplary leader  and an advocate for turf fields at Mount Vernon high school and athletic opportunities.

Supervisor Jeff McKay was the evening's guest speaker. He told guests that there were more land use applications in Lee District during 2012 that in any other magisterial district in Fairfax County.  

“Ninety percent of the current office space is being developed in Lee District,” said McKay.

Fairfax County just received funding through the General Assembly to complete a final transit study for Richmond Highway set for completion in 2014. This study will identify transit modes for the highway and identify a way to move forward to widening Route One from Woodlawn to Buckman Road.
