The atmosphere was jubilant at McNaughton Field Saturday as Woodlawn Little League celebrated its 2013 Opening Day.

More than 250 kids participated in the Opening Day celebration at McNaughton Fields in Mount Vernon.

Special guest speakers included Little League District 9 administrator John Donaldson, Indiana Congressman Marlin Stutzman, and Del. Scott Surovell (D-44th District). Special guests included Good Shepherd Catholic Church Deacon Chris Ryan, Mount Vernon Varsity Baseball Coach Marshall Larkey, Mount Vernon Majors Baseball Players, Washington Mill Elementary School Choir, Mount Vernon High School ROTC, and Uncle Slam from the Potomac Nationals.
