UCM Earns Future Fund Grant
The grant supports efforts to end homelessness on Route 1.

This year’s grant recipients include Homestretch Inc. in Falls Church, Traditional Housing BARN Inc. in Bristow, and UCM. All of these organizations provide programs to help their clients secure and maintain permanent housing. Each organization will receive up to $20,000 each to support programs to end homelessness in Northern Virginia.
The grant will support UCM’s Journeys program, which provides transitional housing to families displaced by domestic violence and helps participants get back on their feet.

“We have selected three amazing and diverse organizations with powerful programs helping those who have exhibited a true desire to reach long-term housing stability for themselves and their families,” Marcy Johnson of Grant Thornton LLP, co-chair of the Future Fund Grants Committee, said in a release. “The number, quality and diversity of the applications we received was not only impressive but reassuring that our community is actively working to end homelessness and I’m happy that the Future Fund can help further the efforts.”
