VIDEO: Man Choking at Subway Restaurant Gets Help from Fairfax County Police

Officer used Heimlich maneuver, training to help man in distress.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- A man who was apparently choking while at a Subway sandwich shop in the Mount Vernon area Thursday morning was helped by a police officer who just happened to be at the eatery.

On Thursday June 30, around 11 a.m. Fairfax County Police Officers Mulhern and Weaver were taking a quick lunch break in a local Subway.

A man approached them who was in distress. Officers noticed that the man was choking and sprung into action. Officer Mulhern utilized his training and administered back blows and the Heimlich maneuver.
