• Newport News veterinarian faces license loss amid 30 alleged patient mistreatment cases (13newsnow.com) — A Newport News veterinarian could lose his license after more than 30 allegations of improper treatment at Newport News Animal Hospital were filed with the Virginia Board of Veterinary Medicine. The board will publicly review claims ranging from delayed tests to incorrect medications at a February 10, 2026 hearing, where possible outcomes include dismissal, discipline, or full revocation.
   

• Newport News man gets 40 years for leading major Hampton Roads drug conspiracy (13newsnow.com) — A Newport News man has been sentenced to 40 years in federal prison for leading a large marijuana trafficking ring based out of Lux Auto in the city. Prosecutors say the group moved cash and drugs through East Coast airports, with investigators seizing nearly $400,000 and about 1,000 pounds of marijuana as part of a sweeping multi-defendant case.
