Fair Oaks Police Log: Dec. 29-Jan. 4

A summary of the latest incidents reported

For the week ending Jan. 4, there were nine larcenies, four vehicle thefts and one major incident included in the Fair Oaks District Activity Report. Fair Oaks District encompasses Oakton.

DWI-Enforcement Campaign Results: Fairfax County Police officers arrested 358 drunken drivers as part of their Safe December 2011 efforts. Of those arrested the vast majority (150) were young adults between the ages of 21 and 29. Further analysis shows that 28 were between 15 and 20 years old, 82 were 30-39, 55 were 40-49 and 43 were 50 or older.

“Despite all our Safe December education and enforcement efforts, hundreds of drivers chose to drink and drive in Fairfax County, presenting an unacceptable safety risk to us all. Clearly, impaired driving remains a threat and our officers will continue to aggressively pursue violators,” said Captain Susan Culin, Commander of the Fairfax County Traffic Division.

Major Incident — Fair Oaks

Robbery: A woman robbed an employee at gunpoint at the Shell Gas Station at 13704 Lee Jackson Memorial Highway around 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 29. She was described as white, in her 20s and about 190 pounds, wearing a dark green jacket with a hood, a white-billed baseball cap and dark blue jeans. The victim, a 31-year-old man, was not injured.

  • 3100 Kinross Circle, wallet stolen from vehicle
  • 12100 Monument Drive, GPS stolen from vehicle
  • 11900 Palace Way, cash stolen from business
  • 12200 Water Elm Lane, ID and social security card stolen from business
  • 12100 Wild Horse Drive, clothing stolen from residence

  • 3800 Lightfoot Street, 1998 Dodge
  • 4400 Market Commons Drive, Volkswagen Passat
  • 4200 Summit Corner Drive, 2011 Nissan Altima
