"We've really worked as a team to make sure everybody is strong, and everybody is improving," Coach Kaitlin Fleischmann said. "You're only as strong as that last person in sprints. I am so proud of these girls. We scored two goals before we even put in a regular starter [as a replacement]."
The Cougars are riding a four-game win streak into the final game of the regular season — a matchup with rival Chantilly High that will determine second place in the Concorde District.

"We're really just planning to come out and play our game, nobody else's. That's been our motto this season," Fleischmann said. "Our girls have done it. I'm so proud, and if we keep doing it we'll go far."
The Cougars will host the Chargers at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, and celebrate Senior Night with a pregame ceremony.
