Caroline Coyer sets school record for career assists

The Oakton Cougars coasted to an easy 70-33 win over the Chantilly Chargers on Tuesday night to improve their record to 14-0 (2-0 Concorde).

For the second consecutive game, the Cougars had a reason to celebrate a Caroline Coyer achievement. In the first quarter, Coyer broke the school's career assists record previously set by Jasmine Thomas, now a Washington Mystic. Coyer now has 509 career assists and sits at No. 5 in the state.

The Cougars dominated throughout the game, holding the Chargers to single digits for three periods.

The Cougars pulled ahead quickly, ending the first quarter 23-7 and entered halftime up 34-19. They held the Chargers to 14 points in the second half while piling on 36 points of their own.

Katherine Coyer posted a game-high 21 points. Elizabeth Manner, Caroline Coyer and Kate Dawson also put up points in the double-digits, with 15, 11 and 10 points, respectively.

The Cougars will work to sustain their undefeated record in the Concorde District at Robinson at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
