Gymnastics: Cougars Rank Third in the District

The Oakton High gymnastics team placed third in the Concorde District Championship on Jan. 30, falling just short of qualifying for the Northern Region Championship.

Nathalia Rojas, a freshman, qualified for regionals with her sixth-place performance on the uneven bars.

The top two teams in the district championship qualify for the region meet. The top eight individuals in each event, and top four all-around gymnasts, also advance to regionals.

The Northern Region Championship is scheduled for Feb. 9 at Lake Braddock Secondary School.
