Volleyball: Huskies Honor Seniors, End Season in First
Flint Hill tops conference, state standings with near-perfect record
The Flint Hill volleyball team defied expectations this season when it soared to the top of the standings early and stayed there, ending the regular season in first place in both their conference and the state with its 3-0 victory over Georgetown Visitation on Tuesday.
The Huskies closed out the season with a 24-2 overall record and a 6-0 record against Independent School League AA competition. They have been ranked first in the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association for all five weeks of the poll.
On Tuesday, the Huskies celebrated both Dig Pink Night — which raises money and awareness for breast cancer research — and Senior Night, and the excitement help propelled them to a dominant sweep (25-21, 25-18, 25-19) over the Cubs.
