ACPS Hosts Malawi Author in Celebration of 'All Alexandria Reads'

William Kamkwamba will speak at T.C. Williams on March 23 to discuss his book, "The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind."

Alexandria is hosting Malawi author William Kamkwamba as part of the All Alexandria Reads series this month.

Author and inventor Kamkwamba helped save his village from famine and drought. By reading to educate himself about the basics of electricity, he was able to build a windmill that saved his village.

Kamkwamba, now a student at Dartmouth College, will share his views on the power of reading at at 7 p.m. March 23, and he will read from his book “The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind.”
