The couple moved Bastille, previously located at 1201 N. Royal St., to a new location last year, to 606 N. Fayette St. Bastille’s popularity led it to relocate to a larger space after eight years on N. Royal Street. After they moved the restaurant, they renamed the first location Bistrot Royal.

Bistrot Royal served its last meal Saturday.

The restaurant first opened 10 years ago: "Thank you for all the memories in this building," they noted on their Facebook page. "We were told we were crazy to not be on King Street, but we defied the odds and created Bastille in 2006. With the support of all we eventually were able to move into our long term home at 606 N. Fayette St.

Join us for our next adventure!!!! See you there."

A sign posted at Bistrot Royal says: "Thank you for 10 great years at 1201 N. Royal St. We appreciate all of your love and dedication but it is time that we say Good-bye and invite you to join us at Bastille."

"Over the past year and half, we have been splitting our time between the two restaurants," the owners said in a news release. "This resulted in neither being able to reach its full potential. On a personal level, our growing and busy family helped us realize the importance of optimizing our time and our continued endeavors to expand Bastille."

For anyone with Bistrot Royal gift certificates, the owners say they can be used at Bastille until Sept. 6, 2016.
