Alexandria City Manager's Wife Walks NY Catwalk

Tameka Young, who recently moved to Alexandria with her husband and two young children, will join the show of an Indonesian designer on Wednesday.

Tameka Young, wife of Alexandria City Manager Rashad Young, is a fashion model walking her first New York Fashion Week show.

The Washington Post reports that Tameka has landed a spot to walk in a show Wednesday for Indonesian designer Farah Angsana.

“I’m married with a family, so it’s like living a double life,” Tameka, 33, told the Reliable Source.

The Youngs met in Dayton, Ohio, and married 10 years ago. Her husband’s career kept them moving every few years. They recently moved to the Cameron Station neighborhood in Alexandria from Greensboro, N.C.

The Youngs also have two sons, ages 5 and 3, who have been a factor in curbing a full-time modeling career.
