Alexandria Emergency Calls to Be Answered by Neighboring Jurisdictions
All command staff and units for the Alexandria Fire Department are going out of service from 7 p.m. Wednesday until 7 p.m. Friday to honor fallen paramedic Joshua Weissman.

Alexandria Fire Department personnel will be off-duty for 48 hours while they honor fallen paramedic Joshua Weissman. Fire fighters and other emergency first responders from neighboring jurisdictions will respond to Alexandria's calls.
All command staff and units for the Alexandria Fire Department are going out of service from 7 p.m. Wednesday until 7 p.m. Friday.
When calls for service are made, the community will be provided with first responders from neighboring jurisdictions with their own trucks and staff, according to the Alexandria department's website.

through some parts of Alexandria on Wednesday and Thursday related to the funeral. The Fire Department has put together a flier (pdf) that can be distributed throughout the community to let neighbors know of the event and what to expect.
