Alexandria Man Charged with First Degree Murder in Stabbing Death

A grand jury returned a four-count indictment Monday in the death of Shakeel Baldon, 43, who was stabbed in the City's West End.

ALEXANDRIA, VA -- An Alexandria man faces life in prison after a grand jury returned a four-count indictment Monday, including First Degree Murder, in the death of Shakeel Baldon, 43, the Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney announced Tuesday.

Baldon was found stabbed to death May 5 in the 6100 block of Lincolnia Road near Little River Turnpike, in the City's West End.

On Monday, the Grand Jury for the City of Alexandria returned the four-count indictment against Clarence William Terry, 53. Terry is charged with:

  • First Degree Murder
  • Misdemeanor Domestic Assault and Battery
  • Felony Violation of a Protective Order
  • Felony Assault and Battery of a Protected Person.

The charges will be tried before the Circuit Court for the City of Alexandria; the maximum penalty for First Degree Murder is life in prison.

The maximum penalty for both Felony Violation of a Protective Order and Felony Assault and Battery on a Protected Person is five years in prison. The maximum penalty for Domestic Assault and Battery is twelve months in jail. Therefore, the total maximum penalty in this case is life plus 10 years and 12 months in prison, the Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney noted.
