Alexandria Man Found Fatally Shot Inside Vehicle In Southeast DC

WASHINGTON, DC — Police in Washington, D.C. are investigating the fatal shooting of 37-year-old Alem Medmim of Alexandria early Sunday morning.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police Department responded around 3:03 a.m., for the report of a shooting in the 2400 block of Martin Luther King Jr., Avenue, Southeast. Arriving on the scene, the officers found Medmim inside a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds, according to police.

Although DC Fire and EMS performed all lifesaving measures, Medmim was pronounced dead on the scene.

Anyone with information about this incident should take no action but call police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for each homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
