Alexandria Pet Of This Week: Mars Is A Stellar Companion
Despite his name, adoptable Mars is very much an earthling who enjoys a walk or hike outside, as well as playing with other dogs.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — For the family who takes Mars home, he will be an out of this world companion.
Mars is one of the adoptable pets from the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria, which takes in pets in need and finds them new homes. Mars gets along well with other dogs and enjoys outdoor adventures.

Mars is a 3-year old, 49-pound, cream colored dog with a sweet and gentle demeanor. He will win you over with his soulful eyes and charming personality. He would be a great running or hiking buddy but would also be content walking or getting lots of playtime with other dogs. Mars has had several play dates and gets along well with other pups so could fit in easily in a home with another dog. He appreciates a slower introduction to strangers, but once he gets to know you then you have a friend for life. Mars already knows the cues for sit and paw - in fact he’s often the one to initiate a handshake - plus, he’s very treat motivated so he has potential to learn much more. We think he will make an amazing friend and companion for the right family. If that sounds like you, call or drop in to the AWLA to meet Mars!
