ALEXANDRIA, VA — Whether you are a cat person or dog lover, there's a furry friend for every family at the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria.

The animal shelter is a great first place to start the search for a pet, because they take in surrendered pets and strays in need of new homes.

One of the adoptable pets is Sweetie Pie. Even though she has a grumpy cat face, you can easily see past that because of her sweet personality. Her personalty is true to the name, as she loves attention from people.

Here's more information from the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria:

Sweetie Pie is a 6-year-old female calico cat. And with a name like Sweetie Pie, you probably know what we're going to say. Despite her grumpy glare, Sweetie Pie is very -- you guessed it -- sweet. She is eager for attention and loves head scratches and pets. She will occasionally swat around a toy, but so far, she's been much more into napping and snuggling. Sweetie Pie does need to be on a prescription diet food, but as you can maybe tell, she isn't a picky eater. She's a loveable kitty with a monster-sized purr. She's a beautiful, easygoing gal!
