Alexandria School Bus Driver Charged In Prince George's Homicide
Two Alexandria residents, including a school bus driver, were charged in a fatal shooting in Prince Goerge's County, Maryland.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Two Alexandria residents, including a school bus driver, were charged in a Prince George's County homicide.
The fatal shooting happened around 2:45 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26 in the 6200 block of Oxon Hill Road in Oxon Hill. Prince George's County Police found the victim with a gunshot wound inside a vehicle. The victim, identified as Tamara Jones of Washington, D.C., died of her injuries on Nov. 29.
Preliminary investigations by police found that the suspects and victim knew each other. Police say the two suspects shot the victim during a dispute.

Carlas Carter, 37, and 34-year-old Mary Ashby, 34, of Alexandria, were charged in the fatal shooting, police say. Police took them into custody with help from Alexandria and Fairfax County Police. Extradition to Prince George's County is pending.
As first reported by WJLA, families at John Adams Elementary School and Alexandria City High School's Minnie Howard Campus were notified of the school bus driver's arrest. Carter is on leave from his job at Alexandria City Public Schools.
