Anonymous Gun Threat Reported At Alexandria School, All Clear Given
An anonymous threat of a person with a gun prompted an Alexandria Police investigation on the scene.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Alexandria City High School's King Street campus was temporarily on a secured status Thursday afternoon to investigate an anonymous threat of a gun on campus.
Executive Principal Alexander Duncan said the campus went under secure the building status for 22 minutes around 2:37 p.m. Thursday. Alexandria Police responded to the scene to respond to the anonymous threat, which claimed a person with a gun was in the high school's parking lot. Alexandria Police gave an all clear and continue to investigate on the scene. Afternoon dismissal was impacted.
"The decision to secure ACHS was taken out of an abundance of caution," Duncan told families. "'Secure the building' means that the school day continues on a normal schedule inside the school, but no one is allowed to enter or leave the school while the building remains secured."
