Attempted Abduction In Alexandria Leads To Arrest By Police

Alexandria Police have charged a suspect in the attempted abduction of a female victim at a dog park.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — Alexandria Police have identified and charged a suspect in the attempted abduction of a female victim at a dog park.

The attempt happened around 6 p.m. on Oct. 29 at the Holmes Run Dog Park within Tarleton Park. Police say the suspect tried to pull the victim into a wooded area, but she was able to escape.

The suspect had fled the scene. A search with a K-9 unit, helicopter and perimeter set by police did not locate the suspect.

On Thursday, Alexandria Police announced an arrest of Rohid Hakimi, 21, a non-city resident. Hakimi was charged with attempted abduction with intent to defile and sexual battery.
